# 149 for 50 shares to AB Cooper. Signed by Lawrence Pool and president Alfred Fonda(?). Dateline 1864 San Francisco. Incorporated July 17, 1863. Small 5c and 20c revenue stamps. Not cancelled. 'Silver Mountain, Amador County, 2500 feet.' Mountain tunnel with ore cart vignette. Drouaillet printer. No pin hole, corner, edge or disoloration issues. Extremely nice. The Crystal 1 & 2 were claims identified as being in the Silver Mountain Mining District in 1864 (per Calif. Division of Mines & Geology listing in "Mines and Mineral Resources of Alpine County" by William B. Clark) Although spelled differently, there is mention of a property with the name Chrystal in the Mining and Scientific Press Volume 7, December 1863. [Thank you to Karen Dustman, local historian and author of the book "Silver Mountain City" (Clairitage Press) for background information on the mine and signatures.] Prag Collection
