1871. Currier and Ives. Hand-colored lithograph on paper made by Currier and Ives. Shows men mining for gold in California. This print shows placer mining and is illustrated including miners shown using pickaxes, shovels, gold pans, and a long tom. Original. 11 x 15". Fine condition. Some discoloration - especially on the top. Left side has two small rips that are just beginning. Professionally restored. Provenance, James Mackie Collection. Please see photo online.
