Five pieces of Western financial paper: 1) 1870 Curtis Consolidated Mining Company stock certificate for 100 shares issued to H. S. Stone, located in the Gold Hill Mining District of Storey County Nevada. 2) 1919 First Mortgage Note from The Wyoming Trust and Savings Bank of Cheyenne with two revenue stamps attached. 3-5) three unissued receipts of the Sterling Silver Mining Company of Kingston 186_. Printed by Buswell & Co., 509 Clay Street, S. F. In 1865, Kingston got a post office and a 20-stamp mill, the Sterling Mill, was erected on the hillside above the settlement. The mines declined in just a few years and by 1869 the mills were silent and the Kingston post office closed. Nevada
