It was said that George Armstrong Custer was a flamboyant soldier in dress. Here's his unpaid bill with E. Owen & Son for his uniform and sundry items. "O H" is pressed into the paper in the upper left hand corner. He bought two pairs of "white Kid gloves" and the one pair of "Blue cord pants with a "double stripe". Clearly the double stripe was over the top and stretched the limits of his military protocol. "Genl. Custer: Will much oblige for a remittance." Dated June 15th, 1864. 7.75 in. X 10 in. In excellent condition.
