Official US Army General Orders, 1876 (January 19 to December 23, 1876). 114 Orders. Includes orders for Battle of the Little Bighorn. Custer's (Tom and George3) orders are #69. there is an index of all the men and officers receiving general orders in the front of the volume in alphabetical order.
Order #69 has a list of all appointments, commissions, promotions, etc. as part of a thirteen page internal document. The report was by General E.D. Townsend under General Sherman. Thirteen officers of the 7th killed at LBH are listed. Also includes desertions, dismissals, and MIA, such as George Lord and Henry Harrington, both missing in action at Little Big Horn.
The book is full of fascinating military events, promotions, etc including releasing lands at San Francisco and Benicia near the Federal Armory.
