This envelope, hand written by Captain Myles Keogh a professional soldier is to his brother Thomas in Ireland. Mailed from New York dated 1866. Captain Myles Keogh was part of the 7th Cavalry at its inception in 1866 and with General Custer at the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876. He would not survive the battle but his horse Comanche did. 2.75 in. X 5.375 in. The stamp has been removed. In very good condition.
