This is an autograph by W.W. Cooke of the 7th Cavalry. A cut-square 1 in. X 4.5 in. Cooke was with Custer at the Little Big Horn and wrote Custer's last directive to Benteen to "come on- Big Village-be quick-bring packs". 1st Lt. Cooke was also the Regimental Adjunct to General Custer and died with him on July 25, 1776.
