Rare set of fourteen checks issued 1859-61 for "Coin Sent You." This meant that the bank of D.O. Mills & Company in Sacramento was sending large batches of coins during the Pony Express Era. All signed Hardy & Kennedy. Cut cancels. Darius Ogden Mills (1825-1910) opened the bank in 1849 after coming to California from New York for the Gold Rush.
