No info could be found on Post. More research is necessary. Johnnie, Nevada is a tiny gold mining camp south of the Bullfrog District, located between Amargosa and Pahrump. The first big discovery was in 1895. There's a big story there about claim jumping worthy of further notice. Things remained active, but in a slow way, until 1906, when significant outside capital came in, and new discoveries were made and prospectors flowed into Johnnie. By then, the Post office had been established in 1906, and the main shaft of the Johnnie mine was already 700 feet deep showing good ore. Meanwhile, the mining camp was a hotbed, and by mid 1907, three saloons had begun, one run by D. M. Post (also Poste) and Mr. Wilson. The others were David Nelson and S. Michael. Polk did not canvas Johnnie in 1912 or 1914, so little is known of the saloons during that period. More research is necessary. Pop in 1990: 1, possibly unique. There are three different tokens from this historic mining camp. You can see one of the original old Johnnie stamp mills today at the Chollar Mine exhibit and tour in Virginia City.
