Rare. Inc. in Colorado. No. 1125, issued for 100 shares to RH Tallant in Leadville in 1882. Signed by president Chester Bullock and secretary Henry Denison. Not cancelled. Black border and print, gray seal, and allegorical female vignette. Printed by Hatch Litho. Co., NY. 7.25 x 11.25" Folds, wear to edges, discoloration. This company is not listed in C&L or Fossett. According to the Leadville Weekly Democrat (Volume 2, December 31, 1881), the company was formed to develop newly discovered claims near Gold Park in the Holy Cross Mining District. A little lake located on the south branch of Homestake Creek, 3 miles above Gold Park was found to have outcroppings and named Dakota Lake. "On each side of this lake there is a large vein or outcropping of iron, carrying gold and silver, some of it very rich..." The prospectors located 5 claims on each side of the lake and then sold these claims to this company.
