Outlaws, robbers, lawmen gone rogue--all words used to describe the infamous Dalton Gang. They were riveting examples of the excitement to be had in the Wild West: train robberies, bank robberies, shootouts, jailbreaking, and horseback escapes are some of the known exploits of the Dalton Gang. They reigned terror on townspeople from California, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Indian Territory.

This brick likely witnessed the Dalton Gang's final attempted robbery: an ambitious attempt to rob two banks at once that would end in four gang members dead, one severely injured with 23 gunshot wounds, and leaving behind three gang members who were not present at the attempted robbery. The brick is from Coffeyville, Kansas, and from the time period the Dalton Gang was operating.

The brick is a gorgeous shade, between coffee and burgundy. Some edges and corners are moderately damaged, and the entire brick is slightly textured from wear, but overall pleasantly smooth to the touch on the undamaged faces. If this brick were to be moistened with spring or rainwater, it would let off the nostalgic and dramatic scent of petrichor and dust, perfect for daydreaming of the Wild West. The brick is stamped "Coffeyville / V. B. &. T CO", and it measures 8"x2"x3.75", with a weight of 5.4lbs.
