Signed by president Chambers and secretary Almy. Stamp cancelled. Brown border, black and gold print, mining vignette. Folds. RP Lounsbery was vice president of the famous Homestake Mining Company and business partners with JB Haggin and George Hearst in other mining properties. He also played a crucial role in selling gold in New York. Hearst was no stranger to Utah. While he first made his money on the Comstock in Nevada, it was the Ontario Mine in 1872 in Park City, Utah that solidified his fortune before he took on the Homestake in South Dakota.
