Dateline 1867. Chartered in 1861. 25c Power of Att'y Revenue stamp. 25c folded Certificate Revenue stamp on reverse. Charles F Ketcham of New York printer. Not cancelled. Very nice condition (pinholes and cut unevenly on bottom). Chartered by the North Carolina Legislature in 1861 to mine and explore for copper, lead, gold, silver, etc. Located in Davidson County. In 1868 the legislature of North Carolina allowed for the increase of stock so they could extend the mine further, build a mill and build a line from the mine ot the North Carolina Rail Road.
