Inc. 1878. Location: Lyon County, Nevada. No. 48, issued for 425 shares to HD Grop on July 12th, 1880 in Virginia City, Nevada. Signed by president J.J. Cooper and secretary WW Scogin. Not cancelled. Black print on yellow paper. Patriotic eagle vignette and prospector vignette. Folds, very nice. 5.25 x 9.75" According to E&MJ, Vol. 29 (1880), the shaft of the company at the mouth of Gold Canyon was down to bedrock (24 ft.). There was a 4 ft. streak of pay gravel which will average 20 cents to the pan. They were mining gold placer at Dayton and Gold Canyon.
