Very rare. Location, Whitewood Mining District, Lawrence County, Dakota Territory (printed at top). Issued in 1881. Signed by vice president RP Lounsbery and secretary Parsons. Stamp cancelled. Brown border, black print, with Native American and angel vignettes. Heavy soiling and water damage on right border, where a portion has also been punched out. Please see photos. 7 x 11" This mine was owned by Homestake. They also had a mill at Terraville, South Dakota. Lounsbery served as vice president and was also in charge of selling the gold in New York
