This Deed of Sale for a 1/20 share in the Golden Gate Mine, from Ebineezer Morgan to William Jones, in 1860 for $500. By 1859, prospects were flattening at the Golden Gate mines in the Port Wine Mining District (Trajeski Flats Mining District), one mile east of Queen City and adjoining the Pacific Mine. This eventually turned around, with the mine taking out 120 ounces of gold in one week in 1863, and 1864, returns on two-weeks of gold dust reached $3,544.66.
