Very rare; we sold only one of these out of the Prag Collection. Inc. in Colorado. Super low no. 2, issued for 10 shares to Chas. F. Adams Jr. of Boston on Oct. 26th, 1885. Signed by the president (name illegible) and secretary (name illegible). Punch and stamp cancelled. Black border and print with vignette featuring bald eagle, miners, and the Colorado state seal. 5 x 14" with stub. Interestingly, stub notes that this stock was issued in lieu of certificate number 1! The Denver Marshall & Boulder Railroad began laying track northwest from Denver in the 1880's. The road builder's progress took them from Coalton to Superior in 1885 and on to Marshall in 1886. The link from Marshall to Boulder was completed and freight service from Denver to Boulder began August 1, 1886 and passenger service by 1890. In 1899, the railroad was consolidated with others to form the Colorado & Southern Railroad.
