May 30, 1875, scarce Denver Mirror with a back page heading, "Col. James Bowie" with a 1/4 column of text with an anecdote of Jim Bowie and his famous Bowie knife. In response to a lady on a stage coach directing a defiant man to stop smoking cigars, Bowie remarked, "I am Col. James Bowie, and, unless you throw the cigar away in one minute, I will put this knife into your heart, as true as there is a God." Yes, the ruffian complied! Also, a dramatic engraved view of Denver and the Rocky Mts. in the background on the top of the front page. 2x 2", 3" and 10" tape repairs on back page. Please inspect.
