Pass No. 76, issued for 1912 to J.E. Preston. Signed by Samuel Perry as president. Endorsed by Preston. Printed on cardstock with ornate logo. Toning. Formed in 1901 with rail from Denver to Golden City and Leyden coal mines in Colorado (owned by Perry). In 1902, the company also bought control of The Denver City Tramway Company. Samuel M. Perry (1849-1929) was a prominent and successful Colorado coal and railroad businessman. As an associate of David Moffat, he helped organize the Moffat Coal Company. He was also president of the Oak Hills Coal Company. During his term as president of this railroad, he helped build the Denver & Salt Lake Railroad that opened up Northwest Colorado.
