By William P. Blake. Tuttle, Morehouse & Taylor, Printers, New Haven. Red hardcover. 47 pages, though pages 25-28, 31-32, and 41-47 are missing. Figures of: quartz crystal from 7th level, sketch showing the North, South, East, and West systems of veinlets, three figures of veins, a geological sketch-section from Silver King Peak to the Plain, and figures of the plan of the floor on levels 3, 4, 5, and 7. Two maps at the end glued together: a vertical section (dated January 1st, 1883) that measures approx. 16" x 8.5" and a Map of the Levels (May 1880 and January 1st, 1883) that measures approx. 17" x 9." This copy appears to have been owned by Richard Frevethan of Superior. Condition is poor: the covers are nearly completely detached, the pages are rough and soiled, pages missing, folds to maps, writing, etc. Please inspect. Topics discussed: Historical introduction, situation, accessibility, climate, geology, vein formation, minerals of the mine, development, and production (missing many pages). 5.5" x 8.5"



The Silver King Mine was the richest silver mine in Arizona. Originally discovery is 1870, but not developed. Rediscovered and developed in 1875. Operated sporadically after 1888.
