Formal detailed pencil drawing tiled “Scene in Arizona.” Shows miner navigating down a hillside with four loaded burros. Dated July 14, 1885. Signed by artist Kreling – we believe this is Joseph Kreling. Born in New York in 1854. Kreling arrived in San Francisco in 1872 and worked as a scene painter in the local theaters before establishing the Tivoli Opera House (the first in the West). He died in San Francisco in 1887.
