Stock certificate Number 1089 for 20 shares at $1 each to William E. Bright. Auto signed by president George C Magown and secretary G. Barney. The Don Enrique Mining Company at Cusihuiriachic had accumulated a large dump of second-class ore, which contained about 25 oz. silver per ton, but filtered so badly on account of the large amount of porphyry in the gangue that it was not profitable to work it by tank lixiviation. After the large lixiviation works of this company were destroyed by fire. In 1896 when the Don Enrique was up for sale, it consisted of 300,000 acres of land in the District of Abasolo, 10 silver mines, two ranches, a reduction works, and 14 houses. Also is a creditor letter authorised by James Fargo, President of American Express Company and brother of Wells Fargo co-founder William Fargo, and George C. Crane. The letter gives a Mr. George Baker 10 shares of Don Enrique for his 100 shares of Cusihuiriachic Mining Company that the Don Enrique just purchased. It was a trip to Europe where Fargo could not get any bank to take his check where Travelers Checks were born. For an older generation they were a must whenever travelling long distances and one did not want to carry large sums of money. These document are in near new condition and have been endorsed by Paper Money Guaranty of New York (PMG) as Very Choice.
