This is a large rock hauled out of the 400 Level of the Eureka Hill Mine near Mammoth, Juab Co., Utah. There is a cylindrical hole piercing one side that was probably drilled for blasting, suggesting this is from a producing ore face in the mine or a development drift toward ore. The mine was described as being in an altered limestone with productive grades of copper and lead with traces of gold and silver. This rock has pronounced metamorphic alteration with bands of green and gray, especially beautiful when the surface is wet. It is approximately 8x8x8 inches and weighs 24 pounds.
