Blank unissued certificate dated 19__, in recognition of Meritorious Services, measures 11 3/4" x 8". DuPont logo vignette and background features company name, with ornate green border with logo in all four corners. Choice condition. DuPont was founded in 1802 by Éleuthère Irénée du Pont, using capital raised in France and gunpowder machinery imported from France. Throughout the 1900s the DuPont company expanded to include materials science, inventing Teflon, neoprene, polyester, nylon and pesticides, among others. In 2015 DuPont merged with Dow Chemicals to form DowDuPont. It also created a spin-off, The Chemours Company, which focuses on production of GMO seeds, materials for solar panels, and alternatives to fossil fuels.
