Lot of two. 1) Cord Corporation. # 42,779 for 10 shares to Eimer Madsin. Auto signed by Raymond Pruitt and E. L. Cord as president. Vignette shows a transportation empire: cars, boats, plans and trains. Blue on white. Light discoloration at folds. Over all very nice. 2) Cord Tire Company. (Not related to EL Cord.) # 1102 for 20 shares to FW Miller. 1920. Green on white. Small tears where folds meet edges. Nice. He was considered a leader in United States transport during the early and middle 20th century. Cord founded the Cord Corporation in 1929 as a holding company for over 150 companies he controlled, mostly in the field of transportation. The corporation controlled the Auburn Automobile Company, which built the Auburn and Cord automobiles; Lycoming Engines; Duesenberg Inc.; New York Shipbuilding; Checker Cab; Stinson Aircraft Company; and American Airways (later American Airlines), amongst other holdings. His legacy lives on today with the philanthropic work that his estate does. Don't forget to check out the Bargains and Dealer Lots section from great deals on automobile stocks. Ken Prag Collection
