Comstock Mining and Miners: Monographs of the United States Geological Survey Volume IV by Elliot Lord and the United States Department of the Interior. Highlights and featured topics include: The origin of the Discovery of Gold in Nevada and the Comstock, Gold Canyon Placer Mining Company, Discovery of the Comstock Lode, The Founding of Virginia City: the Great Mining Town, The Great Bonanza and the Feats of Labor. This 421pg 10” x 12” hardcover was printed in 1883 by the Washington Government Printing Office and includes an extremely detailed table of contents with in depth section descriptions. The book’s cover is in poor condition. There are some large cover discolorations on the spine, front cover’s left corner and the right corner of the right cover. The interior and the pages are in good condition otherwise.

Has the Becker Comstock fold-out claim map (about 20" x 30") with small tear and tape repair.
