This stock has previously been a mystery to us because it's name is too common to pinpoint its exact location. However, new articles found on newspapers.com may locate it as near Eureka, Nevada County, California. No. 17, issued for 100 shares to E. Wadsworth in Hartford, CT, 1866. Signed by president S. Woodruff and secretary Wadsworth. Not cancelled. Black border and print. Mine hoisting vignette (left) and two bald eagle vignettes. 25 cent revenue stamp attached on the right. Folds, creases, clean. 7 x 10" An 1869 Daily Miner Transcript lists the mine and mill property for sale.
