Early beautiful amber, hand blown IV bottle dug in the late 1960s in the "hospital dump" below the brick Virginia City hospital, built in the 1870s. We've never seen another like it in all the museums we've visited (fh). Round, 11" tall, with a body of 7" x 3" diameter. Single hand-applied wrap around strip 1/2" below top for suspension, 2" nipple on the bottom for the drip tube. Etched graduations on one side. Lots of bubbles, a beauty. This bottle was on public display for at least 40 years, garnering much comment. With a world-class USA Hospital bottle in citron color as another lot in this sale, it is appropriate to offer this rarity, a true, hospital-used early medical bottle.
