Nice collection of early maps from the Goldfield region from the collection of Robert Bennett, Jr., longtime Goldfield Geologist. The group includes: Two copies of the Lida quad: the 1908 and 1913 editions, which are quite different, both 1:250,000, part of the early topo series (Goldfield is in the upper right quadrant); Tonopah Mining Map, 1904, 1:12,000, part of what later became known as the mining district special maps; Bullfrog Quadrangle, 1906, reprint of 1932, 1:24,000, stretches from the original Bullfrog mine at the far left edge of the map to the Beatty townsite at the far right edge, just misses Gold Bar. Pioneer is off the map to the north. With this historic map group are two ink on linen maps of the Daisy mine at Goldfield, with assays, sections, geology and plan view, plus notes on the Belmont shaft at Diamondfield. The assays would be fine for an open pit mine, but were lacking for the high grade needed for underground mining around 1900-1910 Date: Location: Goldfield, Nevada HWAC# 59824
