Lot of 3 different. 1)Issued Cordillera Gold & Silver Mining, 2 above ground mining vignettes-2.75" top and both upper corner chips. According to Daily Alta California, Volume 16, Number 5140, 29 March 1864: "Several workings of the ore from the Santa Barbara Mine, Morelas Mining District, Chihuahua, Mexico, produced by S. F. Clousens' amalgamating process. Wheeler's pans, gives $1,100 to the ton in silver and gold. Second and third quality ore, from the same mine, worked at Wheeler A Thayer's mill, North Beach, produced $476.92 to the ton. This ledge has been purchased by the Cordillera Gold and Silver Mining Company, of this city, for the sum of $19,000. The ledge is seven feet wide, and well defined, from which the sample ore was taken giving this result. A mill is now being built at the Miners' Foundry for this Company, which will be shipped soon, and will be in operation, it is erected, before the rainy season commences." 2)1863 Realito Gold and Silver Mining, located in Alamos district, Sonora. Adhesive RN over left vignette. 3) Alacran Mining Co. 1865. This mine is located in the Sinaloa, Mexico and the stock is printed by Britton & Co. of San Francisco. A beautiful vignette depicts an Indian riding bareback through the Mexican desert.
