2 Plank Rd. certificates, Burlington and Mount Pleasant plank Road company, issued to JF talent for two shares, July 9, 1852, signed by AW Carpenter, on canceled, endorsed on reverse. The second is the Mount Pleasant Trenton and deeds Ville plank road and bridge company of Trenton Iowa, issued February 4, 1852 to the city of barreling Burlington Iowa on March 5, 1851 signed by Evans J as president, on canceled. Plank Road company certificates as a whole are scarce. While a Turnpike is an early form of a paid road, on rare occasions those roads couldn't be line was stone but had wood planks across them.
