"Broderick and Gwin., A Brief History of Early Politics in California, sketches of prominent actors in the scenes, and an unbiased account of the fatal duel between Broderick and Judge Terry", by James O'Meara, 1881. 271 pages. "Pioneer SEnators" gilt on spine. Leather bound, light wear and bump damage, protective plastic DJ, overall good condition. Terry and Broderick had opposing political views on slavery. Because of this,in 1859, Terry challenged Broderick to a duel. As a result of their duel, Broderick was shot and killed. His legacy lived on, and be became a symbol for anti-slavery advocacy.
