This document is an early claim to any tunnel rights developing or established on the southside of Jo's Daily Mountain, & any discoveries of new ledges deriving from these tunnels. They call it Tunnel Number 1. Signed by Joseph Daily & officially filed with Middle County, Boise Mining District on Sep 5, 1865. Later, there was a Daily Mine Certificate issued for this location. Signed on reverse. According to Gold Camps & Silver Cities: Nineteenth Century Mining in Central & Southern Idaho "Idaho's major Gold Rush did not come until August 2, 1862, when miners from Florence & Auburn discovered gold deposits, but by 1868 any remaining surplus population in the Boise Basin was swept off to White Pine in northeastern Nevada. Still, the area kept producing substantial amounts for many years." Franklin Collection. Middle Boise district Idaho [Middle Boise district Idaho
