This is a lot of early Playboy magazine issues from April 1954 to August of 1961; a total of approximately 30 issues. Playboy magazine set a precedent by skirting Federal postal laws. It was illegal to mail pornography through the U.S. Postal system. But Hugh Hefner developed a literary magazine by publishing authors Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Truman Capote, Jack Kerouac, John Stienbeck, Ray Bradbury, and Steven King. This gave credence to men reading Playboy for the articles, (wink, wink). The April 1954 issue featuring Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 is included in this lot . Beautiful women from around the world were never far from the the staff photographers. The December 1953 issue featured Marilyn Monroe, and later issues featured Jayne Mansfield, Farrah Fawcett, Madonna, Cindy Crawford, Bo Derek to name just a few. All issues appear to be in very good condition without foxing.
