Certificate issued at Bozeman, Montana in 1883 to Strasburger and Sperling for 25 shares. Signed by Lester S. Hillson as president and E. C. Sperling as secretary. Vignette of miners underground at the right. The Clark Fork district encompasses a narrow strip of ground along the Clark Fork of the Yellowstone River (mt.gov website). The district follows the Clark Fork of the Yellowstone River from the Montana-Wyoming border north to include the lower part of Bear Creek. The district is known for its placer gold that is so fine that recovery is very difficult (Lyden 1948). Stamp cancelled in 1896. Extra folds and slight browning. Date 1883 Clark's Fork, WY hwac 8775
