Handwritten letter on personal letterhead for Edward Grant Burrows, January 18th, 1949. Message to Gordon Berryhill, thanking him for letter. "Am now out of baseball, old age, etc... bad weather brings on pains & aches in my old joints..." Signed by Burrow. Attached to album page. Burrow was business manager (1921-39) and then team president (1939-45) of the New York Yankees and is credited with building the Yankee dynasty. He was also the field manager of the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox.
