This is a rifle scabbard made by Ed. G. Gillmore, saddle maker to the stars. It is 32 1/4 in. overall length with two strap mounts and fits a lever action rifle. The leather is in fair to good condition with the Gillmore logo prominently stamped on top. "Ed G. Gillmore, Maker, No. Hollywood, Calif.". Ed Gillmore made the saddles for Gene Autry and the gun rig for Roy Rogers. This scabbard can be dated by the fact that Ed worked from the early 1930's and was murdered in 1940.
