Eilley Orrum: Queen of the Comstock by Swift Paine. Eilley Orrum was one of the most colorful people of the Comstock. Dubbed “The Queen of the Comstock,” Orrum was often guided by her crystal ball, and was supposedly able to use her tool to foresee the strikes of the future, including the Big Bonanza to the north. Eilley Orrum migrated to the United States after being faithfully persuaded by a Mormon missionary. After going through several husbands, her adventurous spirit and beckoning destiny, she moved west to Nevada where she seemed to stumble upon wealth at every turn. Read as Orrum lived her life in Nevada to “rule, to grieve, to fight.” 309pg hardcover with dust jacket: originally printed in 1929, re-mastered in 1949. The dust jacket is in brittle condition. However the hardcover and pages remain in good condition.
