This is a fabulous stock. It is a very early stock number - # 6. It is issued to the founder of the company H, M. Yerington. It is signed by president Yerington. The stock is also endorsed on the back by Yerington! Yerington constructed the first flume for sending wood and timber down the mountains; built the Carson yard for the timber and flume companies, including the Eldorado Wood and Flume Company, through which they delivered a large portion of wood and timber for the Comstock mining companies. The flume came into the valley at Brown's Station and Washoe City. Both of these locations were on the V&T Railroad that Yerington was the president of! #6 for 749 shares to Yerington. Signed by secretary (-iles) and president Yerington. Fluming vignette. Datelined Carson City 1875. Incorporated in 1875. Printed by Geo. H Baker of San Francisco. Fancy scroll work around the title. Cancelled by small holes. Slight staining on lower left. Still a drop dead historically and aesthetic piece! Prag Collection
