In 1885, he moved to Taylor, Nevada, and purchased CS King & Co.'s drug store in 1889 with David Felsenthal. The partners moved their store to Ely, forming the first drug store there. When Clark bought out his partner, the store became known as the Ely Drug Store or Clark's Drug Store. He was a prominent citizen of Ely, even serving as mayor.
