Enos/Enoch James & Co. was established as gun, rifle and pistol makers in 1877 at 36-38 Staniforth Street, Birmingham. In 1889 they took additional premises at 14 St Mary's Row. They produced at least 2 models of shotguns, the "Knickerbocker Club Gun" in at least 2 grades (1875-1890) and the "James Club Gun" (1875-1914). Both guns had several models in each grade.

This gun has extremely nice British engraving, matching hammers and 32” barrels with semi pistol grip. Repair to the bottom butt of the stock and some slight damage near the top receiver near the right hammer. Nice British engraved push release for the fore-end stock. An excellent project gun for restoration and display.
