Very early 1861 Aurora stock! Inc. December 1st, 1860. No. 177, issued for 10 shares to Dr. Em Smith on February 13th, 1861 in San Francisco. Signed by president William D. Robinson and secretary Hopkins. Not cancelled. Black print, green underprint and eagle on shield vignette. No printer listed. Folds, creases. 5.25 x 10.25" The Daily Alta California, May 20, 1863 confirms this company was located in the Esmeralda District (Aurora). The notice of incorporation (Daily National Democrat, Volume 5, Number 90, 6 December 1860) lists the location as Aurora, Carson County, Utah--a great example of how Aurora was technically in 3 states (Utah, California, Nevada) before finally being considered part of Nevada. We found no other information on this mine.
