Lot of approx. 30 plus. This lot chronicles the life of Eugene Templeton mining engineer and consultant, Lot contains: Six photo albums, eight passports (two are Consulate). Multiple loose photos. One album contains photos of the Rawhide mine around 1910-18, Daly West Mine Park City, Tank Mine Ark around same time era. Diploma and College Degrees, a pocket slide rule. Letters between his son John and mother. A portfolio of sons art work ( he was pretty good),
In 1906, he earned two degrees in geology, (mining engineering), from Stanford University, where he was also an instructor while completing his post-graduate work in 1911-1912.
Gene was a highly regarded expert in mining engineering and for the next 18 years he traveled the world doing geologic field work and negotiations in petroleum bearing regions of the US, Canada. Russia, Europe, Siberia, Peru, Venezuela, Cuba, China, Honduras, Mexico and other regions. His life was cut short in 1932 in Wharton Co, TX where he was tragically killed in an accident when he was flying over petroleum regions while working for Union Oil Company.
