Certificate #1 issued to and signed by the company president, J.B. Sears for 5 shares in 1888. . Gold was discovered at Palmyra in 1860 and the town of Como was platted in 1862. Como is located 11 miles southest of Dayton. Como boomed until 1864 and then again around 1880 and 1902-05 (Paher). We're guessing that this company operated the Como-Eureka mine at Como, Nevada. Sears later became a principal owner and organizer of the Union Transportation Company, which rans steamers between San Francisco and Stockton. City: Como State: Nevada Date: HWAC# 51207
