Condition: Very Fine. Serial Number: 275. The Farmers And Merchants National Bank Of Eureka History: This was the last national bank in the state that was chartered during the note issuing period. While chartered in 1920 it elected to allow the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco its note issuing privilege that is until the Series of 1929. A total of $91,380 of notes were issued and by June 21, 1935 a mere $27,490 was outstanding. The cashier, C.L. Tobin married Effie Sweetser who was the daughter of the Frank Sweester, the first president of The First National Bank Of Winnemucca. Both Jerry Sheehan and C.L.
