A RARE brass plate engraved with the name, "EUREKA NEVADA RY NO. 6. 0-4-4". Measures 3-5/8" long by 3/8" wide. The Eureka & Palisade Railroad, was a 3-foot narrow gauge railroad built in 1875 to serve the mines in the Eureka Mining District in central Nevada. Due to corporate reorganizations brought on by financial difficulties, it changed names to the Eureka Nevada Railway in 1912. This plate thus dates to 1912-1938. The rails and rolling stock of the last surviving narrow gauge railroad in Nevada were removed by 1938.
