General Freight & Passenger Agent Judson L. Fast (1849-1897) on the letterhead of the Eureka & Palisade, Eureka County, Nevada, July 25, 1881. This is the first time we've had an Eureka and Palisade Railroad letter from Palisade. The E & P RR was an 84-mile long narrow-guage railroad that ran between Palisade and Eureka, NV from 1874 to 1938. According to his obituary, Judson Fast was longtime Paymaster for the Nevada Division of the Central Pacific Railroad (SPRR) at Palisade, and GF & PA of the E&PRR for 18 years. Born in Ohio, he retired and died in Alameda County, CA as quite a wealthy man. Lot includes printed copy of obituary and a 3 1/2 inch (approximate) square stereo-size B & W print of the E & P Palisade Depot with an annotation on the reverse "Palisade Depot, 'Hans and Fritz' in foreground."
