The Eureka & Palisade Railroad was a narrow gauge railroad built from 1873-1875 between Palisade and Eureka, NV, about 85 miles. Railroad built to connect Eureka, the center of a rich silver mining area, with Palisade which connected the national railway network. Due to financial concerns and reorganizations railroad became "Eureka and Palisade Railway" and then "Eureka Nevada Railway." John Sexton, manager of the line, tried to keep line running but it succumbed to the effects of flood, fire, competing road traffic, and dwindling amounts of ore extracted in Eureka.
