Early pass for this railroad that served the Washington gold mining camp of Monte Cristo (now a ghost town). Had the financial backing of John D. Rockefeller. Transported miners and supplies from Everett to Monte Cristo and then brought back ore to smelters in Everett. Plagued by damage caused by river flooding. This pass is No. 322, issued to H.P. Nadeau (Northern Pacific RR). John McBride as general manager. Endorsed by Nadeau. Printed on yellow cardstock with ornate border and logo. Some soiling and toning, as well as creases on corners.
