Issued by the Ewiiaapaayp (WE-yah-pie) Indians of San Diego County, California, this colorful 2014 double set includes12 Uncirculated coins, a double 6-coin set in a display box so both sides of each variant are visible. 2 each of 6 uncirculated coins: 1¢ – Ants 25¢ – Yellow poppies 5¢ – Water bearer 50¢ – A bear and cubs 10¢–Meteor showers $1–Two rams fighting All 6 share a common obverse featuring the leaning rock and big dipper. (Ewiiaapaayp means leaning rock in the Kumeyaaay language.) Each coin displays the tribal names for the denomination along with the English version. Officially recognized as a Sovereign Nation by the U.S. government, the tribe is legally authorized to issue its own commemorative coins. Mintage limited to just 10,000.
